Jake and Reese grab some lunch together and left in a GMC Yukon Hybrid SUV in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal of Brokeback Mountain fame and actress Jessica Biel have been asked to leave director David O Russell’s Nailed because of financial issues.

The actors were asked to leave by the Screen Actor’s Guild because the makers of the film have apparently deposited insufficient funds with the guild. The movie is not yet complete and production is only way half way, perezhilton.com reports.

Russell is known for being difficult. He has been in the news earlier for having a fight with George Clooney on the sets of Three Kings and for a tiff with veteran actress Lily Tomlin, which was caught on tape.

Jake Gyllenhaal has laughed off reports he is planning to propose to girlfriend Reese Witherspoon and rush her down the aisle.

The superstar couple began dating on the set of their 2007 film “Rendition” and have been inseparable since, prompting reports of an imminent engagement.

Now friends tells OK! magazine that Gyllenhaal will propose any day soon, and they don’t want to wait long for wedding.

A friend of Witherspoon tells the tabloid, “They’ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together.”

Gyllenhaal, 27, recently confessed he was deeply “in love” with Witherspoon to producer pal Ryan Kavahaugh.

But Gyllenhaal’s spokesperson Carrie Byalick insists the gossips are jumping to conclusions, telling OK!, “There are no current wedding plans.”

Sitting in a cozy booth at the Hominy Grill in Charleston, S.C., on May 3, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were the picture of happiness. Though the cheery couple, who arrived holding hands, brought their appetites, their minds weren’t on food.

“They couldn’t keep their eyes off each other,” Hominy Grill manager Brandy Mangum tells OK!. “The entire time, he was so attentive. It was really sweet. They really do make the perfect couple.”

Friends of the pair say it won’t be long now before Jake pops the question to his lady love. “They’ve been talking marriage for a while,” a source close to Reese reveals to OK!. “They’ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together.”

But don’t expect these two to go down the route of so many Hollywood couples who move in together and start families before getting hitched. “This is a very serious relationship,” the Oscar-winner’s pal explains. “But Reese is very conservative and traditional. I’m sure she doesn’t want her kids to see her ‘living in sin.’”

A sequel to Richard Kelly’s cult hit Donnie Darko will begin shooting this month, Screen Daily reports.

Titled S. Darko, the film takes place eight years after the events of the first film and follows Samantha Darko (Daviegh Chase), the younger sister of the first movie’s lead character, as she travels across America with her best friend Corey. On the road trip the pair start to witness strange visions.

Chris Fisher (Nightstalker) will direct the film. Kelly, who wrote and directed 2001’s Donnie Darko, is not involved in the sequel.

“I am a great admirer of Richard Kelly’s film and hope to create a similar world of blurred fantasy and reality,” said Fisher.

Donnie Darko starred Jake Gyllenhaal as a teenager who, after a near death experience, is told by a giant bunny that the world will end in 28 days.

Fisher added: “Donnie’s not in [the new film] but there are meteorites and rabbits.”

S. Darko begins production on May 18. Fox has already secured North American distribution rights for the film.

Reese Witherspoon hates being apart from Jake Gyllenhaal.

Reese surprised Jake on his latest film set. He was busy filming but they still managed to spend some time together.

A Source revealed all to OK magazine: “They were giggling, teasing each other and holding hands the whole time.”

Later, Jake had to film a scene in a church so Reese waited for him in his trailer.

The shoot took ages and an assistant had to help Reese.

The insider added: “Around 11.30pm she (Reese) was getting pretty impatient.

“Finally, a makeup woman escorted Reese up the far left aisle of the church to watch Jake finish his scene. She looked really anxious for Jake to wrap up.”

As soon as Jake finished he disappeared with Reese.

Her visit was brief as she had to fly back to Washington to lend her support to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is deeply “in love” with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, according to his producer pal Ryan Kavanaugh.

The “Brokeback Mountain” hunk has been romantically involved with divorced mother-of-two Witherspoon since meeting on the set of their 2007 film “Rendition.”

And Kavanaugh, who worked with the actor on forthcoming film “Brothers,” insists the “Legally Blonde” beauty could be “the one” for Gyllenhaal.

He tells People.com, “I just think he loves her.

“(Jake) has obviously had his fair share of dating. I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

We have new information tonight on another casting call for the movie “Nailed.”

There was a casting call last month when casting directors were looking for girl extras. Now the movie needs adult males and senior citizens.

The extras will be used during filming Thursday.
